A deathly howl blows across the ravaged land of Cruinthe. A land forsaken by reason and history. The Sorcerer-King Julgrava has sat on the Cruinthian throne for the past 200 years. Silently grinding humanity into dust. The people he is supposed to protect die by the sword. The people he is supposed to feed starve to death in their homes. The people he is suppose to shelter have no safe refuge. His rule is tyrannical at best, a crime upon humanity at its worst.
The Empire of the Highborn hold humanity hostage through the Sorcerer-King. Separating elvenkind from humanity is a vast wasteland called the Bone Wastes. Step into that land and your life is forfeit the people say. No one ever comes back from the Bone Wastes, that's what is told in the taverns and halls. Every year their grip gets tighter and tighter. The people live in such ignorance now that they can barely survive on their own. Forget progress, as humanity is trying to curb the backslide into an animal state.
Some say that the death knell of humanity has already been rung. That it was murdered in its complacency. Others, people claiming to be actual Justean heirs to the throne offer the people of Cruinthe a dream instead of a nightmare. Your choice lies with whom to side: the Idealistic upstarts in that formed the Republic of Cruinthe, the nostalgic heroes that rallied and became The Royal Justean Guard, or the dominators of humanity under the Sorcerer-King Julgrava's rule.
Choose wisely, for doom is close at hand.
