Sayna the basics full name • Sayna Murray nicknames • N/A age • Nineteen birthday • May 16 occupation • Mage gender • Female sexuality • Heterosexual the appearance face claim • None height and weight • 5'4''; 135 lbs identifying features • None overall appearance • Sayna is a rather petite, young and pretty looking thing. When she isn't scowling or rolling her eyes, which is half the time. Her dainty frame is rather curvy and draped with robes of green and black, with gold trimming. She usually wears her rich red hair up in a messy bun, finding the feeling of free strands tickling her neck rather unnerving. Well-shaped 'brows, one raised in puzzlement or expressing being unimpressed sometimes, rest above hazel eyes that are speckled with greens and ambers. Unlike almost every mage in the realm, Sayna -detests- wearing the traditional cap that has been given with the uniform, finding it too hot and uncomfortable, and itchy. Others look upon her in bewilderment and with feelings of offense. She fails to take effort to care for these flaws, because others' opinions of her do not matter. She doesn't have to fully look the part to become a damn good mage. Unless you're looking for heat stroke in the summers. She has no time for the luxury of practicing much femininity, when she can spend it improving her skill. However, there will be special occasions where she will let go and give herself that privilege to look and behave like a proper lady. Although, her etiquette could improve, as well as her social ability. the personality likes • Sweets, Spicy things, Animals, Puzzles, Sleep dislikes • Large Crowds, Being Underestimated, Making Mistakes, Loud noises strengths • Magic and Skill weaknesses • Strength and speed dreams • To be a great healer fears • Feeling helpless overall personality • First impressions leave people with the idea that she is a rather uninterested and unhappy person. Highly criticizing on one's mistakes when she has made many, though unwilling to admit being wrong at all. In truth, it's the feeling of just being lonely. Unfortunately, there has been a distrust between herself and others around her. There always has to be a what, when, where, how, and why to everything a person does, and what their intentions mean to be. Sayna is highly skeptical of everything and judgmental when it comes to the resolve of her peers. It is difficult to please her and reassure her constant insecurities and concerns. One thing is never dull is her need to argue and dispute her point. Every little flaw she observes, she will tend to point out and express her notions on how they could be improved. She likes to relate her methods to a tough love approach. When, really, her constant injections of herself and her thoughts and advise are rather annoying. In short, she can be a nag. This brings to the fact that she shows her affection to her loved ones in the strangest of ways. Much like a child picking on another to express any like for them. Sayna fluently speaks the language of sarcasm and sometimes jokes about others and/or the actions they make. However, on the rarest of moments, she could show a motherly side to those closest to her and reflect a protective nature that is as stubborn and solid as a bull. Sayna has a vulnerable side, after all. Occasions where you could catch a tint of pink dusting her pale face if you were to compliment her or give her any praise, in reply she will fire it back and have to disagree sometimes. She isn't good at taking positive feedback and reacts oddly and suspiciously and reciprocates with a sheepish shrug or eye-roll. Very seldom does she display any hints of love or romantic feelings, and she's not very vocal, leaving the result usually one-sided to her disappointment. This gave her the idea of giving up on false hope. Almost, anyway. the history father • Thomas Murray; 63; Great Knight (retired) mother • Caroline Murray; 54; Cleric siblings • if any important people • Arro; Childhood friend hometown • Yilisstol overall history • Inside the perimeter of the walls of the royal palace of Ylisse, where a neighborhood of noble residences resides under it's protection. In one of these houses is the disgruntled figure of a female almost hunched over her old books and scrolls as she sat uncomfortably on an ornate chair, constantly combing and ruffling her messy red curls with a huff of frustration and fatigue. Her eyes darted back and forth between the text laid before her, and the hourglass sitting at the corner of the desk for what seemed like eternity. This was a routine for the young mage. Wake up in the morning, breakfast (barely), chores, study for an hour or two, lunch, academics and magic practice, more study, and bedtime. On this particular day, Sayna wasn't exactly giving much care on her studies. Last night was a night of hardly any sleep and hours of twisting and turning with the grunts of exasperation and stress every now and then. There had only been a good night's sleep seldom for a couple days of the week, the rest just leaves her hopeless and grouchy. It was a curse. The trait of insomnia passing down from her mother and onto her, brain constantly on autopilot and coming up with the strangest resolutions and ideas. Her mother had left for an important engagement, and her younger brother had to attend lessons for Swordplay. She had stayed behind, catching up on her studies, since she had taken upon herself to sleep in just for a little while. There wasn't much to accomplish when chores are involved. Her family had servants, yes. However, her parents believe in the responsibility of being strong and independent, despite being of a high class status where practically everything and anything could be handed to you. It was of greater worth if it was worked for. Luckily, most of the work was done yesterday and things have been able to remain in tact. The girl leaned back with a low groan, stretching out and extending the joints in her vertebrae, receiving a satisfying series of pops. She rubbed at her eyes with the heels of her palms, grumbling; "I dunno how I'm going to deduct this formula, it all seems to read like jibberish to me. It makes no sense!" She dropped her shoulders; "I applaud whoever took the time to solve this slue of algorithms and thesis. I just don't have the bloody patience." Of course, the mathematics of magic and alchemy never made sense to her. It wasn't one of Sayna's talents. "Hellllooo~?" A feminine voice chimed from the doorway to her room, followed by a rasp of soft knocking in a pattern where it sounded like a tune. The blonde grinned and practically pranced across the floor and blanketed herself on the mage in a hug. "Saynaaa~," she coo'd. Sayna pinched the bridge of her nose, huffing under the weight of her only friend. "Go away," she grunted. The other girl jutted out her lower lip in a pout. "C'mon, don't be that way," she whined, squeezing the red head; "You looked troubled earlier during lessons and left early! I haven't seen you all day!" Sayna and Arro had been friends since childhood. While Sayna rather be alone, Arro chose to butt herself into her personal space and challenge her objections. It came to no use, eventually she opened up after noting some similarities between the two. Her carefree attitude and free spirit piqued an interest in the grouchy mage, and oddly found it refreshing. With her pretty smile and bright eyes, it was hard not to like her. They became inseparable ever since. Someone had to put up with her grumpy attitude besides her family outside of the home. The duo have speech and magic lessons together. Speech was something Sayna's mother thought of in hopes to expand her social status and skill set. So far, there has been little progress. "Impressive observation," Sayna rolled her eyes, shrugging the blonde off of her. "I'm serious!" Arro said, hands to her hips; "Is it the sleeping thing again? C'mon! You're the smartest mage I know! Couldn't you have come up with some spell to make you fall asleep or something?" Sayna deadpanned at her friend. "Why would I waste my time coming up with magic for myself when I could possibly help other people?" she replied. "Well, you won't be of much use to the masses if you keel over on sleep deprivation," Arro pointed out. "I'm fine." The girl shook her head, then peered over Sayna's shoulder. "Oooh, looks complicated," she stated in awe. "That's because it is," Sayna sighed. Arro grinned, "Don't worry, you'll figure it out somehow." "Uh-huh.." "Say, why are you going above and beyond anyway? You planning to save the world or something?" Arro tilted her head. Sayna focused her eyes on the parchment. "Eh, you can say that," she said; "I'm hoping to hone my skill enough to earn my place in the royal house hold." She rested her chin in her palm, elbow propped on the table. "Just the thought of actually serving under Lady Emmeryn and the family would be a great honor. I'd be able to make a difference." Sayna looked to Arro, with a bit of a dreamy glow in her eyes for a moment, before turning away and slamming the tome shut. "I'm far from it yet," she nodded firmly; "There's no use daydreaming about it and dawdling when I can spend it on working on my abilities." Arro smiled, nudging Sayna playfully with a wink, "You'll make it. I'm rooting for ya'." The mage looked up at her, ready to reply until she was cut off- "Trust me. You'll be the greatest," Arro reassured her. She managed a small, crooked smile, scoffing a little. "I guess so," Sayna said. "Besides, maybe you'll find a nice, handsome nobleman--" "Stop it." combat forecast class • Mage weapon rank • D weapon • Elwind, Elfire, Elthunder items • Vulnerary |
